The question that never stops coming
"What shall we cook" arises roughly a thousand times a year. That's exactly why it's worth setting up properly once rather than asking afresh every evening.
What you must state
The difference between a useless and a workable menu lies entirely in the constraints:
Menu for the week: family of 4, children aged 5 and 9. We don't eat: mushrooms, spicy food; the younger one is allergic to nuts. Weekdays: cooking 30 minutes maximum, in the evening. Weekends: longer is fine. Budget-conscious, ordinary supermarket ingredients. Fish twice a week, meat no more than twice. Produce a separate shopping list grouped by aisle.
A shopping list grouped by aisle is the detail that saves the most: you walk the shop once instead of criss-crossing it.
Cooking from what you have
"Here's what's in the fridge: [list or photo]. What can I cook in 20 minutes without buying anything?" It works better than you'd expect and noticeably reduces food waste.
What to save once
Your permanent constraints — family size, allergies, what you don't eat, how long you have to cook — rarely change. Save them as ready text and paste them in. The menu request then takes fifteen seconds rather than five minutes.
Careful with allergies
A model may be wrong about a product's contents or unaware of hidden ingredients. With a serious allergy, check the label yourself, every time. AI helps plan a menu; it doesn't answer for what ends up on the plate.

Write out and save a text containing all your family's permanent constraints (size, allergies, what you don't eat, cooking time, budget).
