Convenience and data go together

AI services are useful because they process what you give them: text, files, photos, voice. But that means your data leaves your device and reaches the company servers. Understanding this is the first step to safety.

What the service "sees"

  • Your prompts: topics, questions, life details you mention.
  • Uploads: documents, tables, screenshots, photos.
  • Metadata: when, from where, on which device.

Where it can go

Chats may be stored, used to improve models, and in some cases reviewed by people (for quality checks). Serious services describe this in a privacy policy — worth at least a quick read.

Rule #1: treat an AI chat like a conversation that is not fully private. Do not write what you would not want a stranger to see.
