One topic, many ways to explain
If something is unclear, it is often the explanation, not you. AI can explain the same thing in different ways — just ask for the format you need.
Levers of understanding
- Level: "explain for a beginner" / "at an expert level".
- Analogy: "give an everyday analogy" — the complex becomes vivid.
- Step by step: "explain step by step, I will say where I get stuck".
- Different angles: "explain this three different ways".
Explain what RAM is with a simple analogy
Picture a desk. The hard drive is a filing cabinet, and RAM is the desk surface: the bigger it is, the more papers you can spread out and work with at once. Turn it off and the desk is cleared.
The "explain it back" trick
To truly understand, explain the topic yourself and ask for a check: "I will explain how I understand it, find my mistakes and gaps". You instantly see what is learned.
Exercise
Pick a topic you get confused about and ask for three explanations: an analogy, step by step, and in plain words. Then explain it yourself and ask it to find the gaps.
The best way to understand is to explain in your own words and let AI check where you went wrong.
